MNK Studio Art’s interior activations reimagine corporate offices and workspaces as hubs of energetic creativity. We see each space as an opportunity to setting the stage for a brand to build a community–where interactive art installations, three dimensional murals, custom furniture and wayfinding signage create an immersive and cohesive brand experience. After years of working from the self-curated comfort of home in the pandemic and post-pandemic era, many employees are resisting the idea of returning to co-working in a traditional office setting. Creating a destination that tells your brand’s story can foster loyalty among co-workers and influencers.

Interior Activations are also an incredible way to impress visitors and welcome customers to feel ownership. Imagine a lobby that tells the story of your brand before they’ve even reached the reception desk–Or a nondescript hallway transformed into an art installation designed to invite participation–Or a photo backdrop that acts as a living billboard. There are so many creative ways to look at underused spaces–if the physical space is there for you to use, why not take advantage of it? How would a customer feel if they physically entered the digital world of your brand?

As artists, we are good at thinking outside of the box to make the most of what’s available, so our imaginative approach to activating spaces is more time and cost efficient than traditional interior design. Want it custom? We’ll build it ourselves. Effective physical experiences don’t need to be extravagant or expensive, minimal touches can also create a powerful connection to your brand. We take cues found in digital campaigns, influencer events, and products to create physical spaces. Be it surprising and energetic or calm and intimate, we select paint colors and choose textures and shapes for furniture and decor that align the interior with a brand’s positioning.

CASE STUDY: Hotel IPSY

When our longtime partner IPSY requested that we transform an underutilized studio/storage room into a beauty creator lounge, we couldn’t wait to take on the challenge. We reimagined the space as an opportunity for storytelling – taking inspiration from a fun, Art Deco inspired hotel – we created the concept of Hotel IPSY.

The “reception desk” doubled as the main production space’s backdrop complete with an arched hallway and branded key wall backdrop. The “elevator” activation offered another photo backdrop; this time in lush jewel tones and custom contour cut gold vinyl pattern view more of our vinyl work here. A hybrid merchandise and storage area allowed for a rotating line of products to share with visiting influencers. The seating area was equally bespoke with a velvet curtain wrapped changing area, vintage inspired mini fridge, mood lighting, and a custom velvet storage banquette fabricated by Eric Schum.
